Bio

Nathan Gaunt is an Australian multi-award winning singer songwriter. After learning the piano at an early age, he picked up his first guitar after seeing Jimi Hendrix play on late night TV. Since 1999, Nathan has released six EPs and six albums, including 2004's ‘Escape and Return’, which was co-produced with internationally acclaimed producer/engineer Jeremy Allom (David Bowie, Massive Attack,The Pretenders), and the critically acclaimed ‘Headlights on the Hills’ (2006).

His 2007 album, the experimental ‘Halcyon Dazed’, was described by the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper as: "channel[ing] the best of trip-hop, prog and alt-rock, soaring like some lost track from Radiohead's OK Computer." Nathan recorded his most recent album, ‘See Ya Later Space Cowboy’ in Los Angeles, working with the likes of  Grammy-award winning producer/engineer Matt Hyde (No Doubt, Slayer, Jonny Lang), drummer Herman Matthews (Tom Jones, Sheryl Crow) and keyboard player Phil Parlapiano (Rod Stewart, Lucinda Williams).

Nathan has toured extensively throughout Australia, United Kingdom and United States with shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia, Portland and Washington, DC. 

He has played with acts as diverse as Carole King, KD Lang, Joe Satriani, Robben Ford, The Tea Party, Gomez, Shawn Colvin, Michael Franti, Icehouse, Ian Moss, Diesel, Kate Ceberano, The Black Sorrows, The Audreys, Delta Goodrem, Marcia Ball and Art Garfunkle. Nathan has also performed at various national and international festivals including, South by Southwest festival in Austin Texas,California Music Festival, and Australian festivals the Big Day Out and Blues at Bridgetown.

With a swag of awards under his belt - including West Australian Music Industry Association awards for ‘Best Male Vocalist" and "Best Guitarist’ - Nathan has been lauded for his impressive vocal range and unique style blending atmospheric, soulful rock and blues with a hint of Eastern influence.
